"In this segment I'm going to talk to you about litter box cleanliness. There's a couple of different ways you want to think about a clean litter box. The first one is to make sure that the litter is scooped regularly. And that means every day or even twice a day if you can do it. If you have non clumping litter such as this litter you want to make sure that you get all of the soaked litter out of the box on a regular basis every day. Now in addition to the regular scooping on a daily or twice a day basis you want to make sure that the litter box itself actually gets dumped and thoroughly cleaned out periodically. And that depends on how many cats you have and how dirty the box is. You want to change the litter probably once a week. If you're using non clumping litter even more frequently than that, probably twice or even three times a week. But take your litter box, empty it. Scrub it down really well with a good cleanser that will not leave a lot of scent. Rinse it well and make sure that there is no material, either urine or stool on the sides or bottom of the litter box."
