So the raises beds are an exceptional portion of the back yard permaculturist's garden. They, they hold the moisture and they maximize root zone, and they allow you to grow far more cropage then you would on a normal piece pf ground. And this is in a way that we use boards and poles to build retaining walls. Similar to a terrace in a very steep country. And by terracing the crops we can, we can really create an extraordinary grow zone. I know it looks like a disaster here right now but once we got this retaining wall built we will be able to put all this good earth back behind the wall and mulch this out, and mulch this out and then we're planning to plant strawberries all along here. And this will be a nice ergonomic zone for kids or other people to go along and pick the strawberries. So essentially all that is entailed is to dig some holes, to plant rock proof locust posts into the ground. In this case I have soft wood because I've chosen this very long timber but this will last 2 or 3 or maybe 4 years and then it can easily be replaced. And then beyond that my only job is to appropriately sight and then back fill using stones around the post, and if that post is big enough and if my engineering is done right it all should come together, and stay in place and it becomes a permanent, permanent raised bed that will hold the soil intact for many fertile years.
