"O.k., I'm going to be talking to you today about sheet mulching. That's the idea that you can spread un-composted manure on the ground without incorporating it, without plowing it in and one of the obvious places to use that material is on fruit trees. You see we're months and months from, from these fruits being ready and so I have no concern about spreading this partially composted goat bedding onto the crown of the fruit tree. And I'm just going to spread it out as best I can. I'm not even worrying about the compost or the debris here because the crown will grow. The crown of that tree will just grow wider and more, more fertile. And the mulch serves the purpose of one fertilizing the tree, two it's weed control so we don't have any weeds growing on the crown. And three it's a tremendous water holding capacity, by bring in the sheet mulch we carpet in the whole region and keep this tree nice, and hydrated through the summer months. That's a little introduction to sheet mulching."
