"Although I've mentioned a lot of these tips throughout these last four series, I'd like to just highlight some tricks and tips for learning poi on your own at home. One is to make sure that you stretch your arms and your wrists before practicing. It really helps to have your whole body loosened up in order to fully take advantage of the different kinds of movements that you'll be doing. Also it's really helpful, and I cannot emphasize how much, to practice with a mirror. Although you may not like to look at yourself and you may think that you look dumb, it really will help you to get a stronger sense of how you are rotating your poi in ways that you might not be able to see on your own. And next, like I said before, don't be discouraged if you hit yourself or if you get your chains really tangled or if you just feel extremely uncoordinated and not graceful, because that's how it goes when you're learning a new thing and poi spinning is one thing that you can actually master in a relatively short amount of time if you do practice. So keep it up and before long you will be spinning like the best of us."
