"Hi, this is Jeff from the Two Wheeler Dealer. Today I'm going to show you how to do a wheelie on a bicycle. To start with definitely I'd like to stress safety. Unless you are fairly proficient in riding wheelies, I definitely recommend all the safety gear. Elbow pads, knee pads and a helmet for sure. Basically to start, you want to get in a good mid range gear. Something that's pretty easy to pedal. If you have a mountain bike, middle chain ring usually works best. Somewhere in the middle. To start, you basically get the pedals at a ninety degree angle. And get good and comfortable balanced on the bike. You're going to take your dominate foot forward and basically you're going to pull. Shift your body weight from the front of the bike back behind the rear of the saddle. While at the same time squatting down and lifting the front wheel at the same time you are applying pedaling force with your dominate pedaling foot. Once you get it popped up, you can then control the balance by shifting your body weight forward and backward over the axle of the front wheel. So once you have your weight centered over the rear axle, you can then control the wheelie by shifting your weight either for and at that centering point of the axle. Try to pedal with nice smooth pedal strokes so that you keep going in a straight line. Once you want to set the bike down, you can usually just tap the rear brake. Or just go ahead and shift your body weight back over the seat. And you should be able to set the front wheel down and be able to continue riding along. That's how to ride a wheelie."
