"Hi I'm Les Whitley. I'd like to talk to you a few minutes about losing the fat. Particularly that back fat that a lot of you have questions about. The fat when you lose, you are going to lose from your entire body, not in one particular area. Cause the myth is that you can reduce and spot reduce in particular areas that you are emphasizing. It's great to be able to build strength and tone and target muscles to get stronger, but to reduce the body fat it takes time, effort and energy and you reduce from your entire body. To strengthen the muscles of the back, one of the best exercise overall is the pull up. Begin by hands shoulder width or slightly wider. Get your hands set, pull to maximal contraction, lower yourself through a full range of motion. This will help you build strength as well as endurance for the muscles of the back. But to get rid of of any over lying area or body fat there, you got to improve your level of activity through out your daily routine. Not just while you are exercising. That's part of developing an overall healthy lifestyle that you implement long term for the rest of your life. Part of that is a healthy overall diet as well."
