"Hi, I'm Les Whitley. I'd like to take a few moments right now and talk to you about losing some of the additional abdominal fat. For men, especially around the sides of the area, they're typically called the love handles. Love handles are the additional body fat, can accumulate not only on the sides, but the rear towards the back of the body. As with losing body fat from any other portion of your body, it requires an overall reduction in your calories or greater calorie expenditure to tap into that body fat using that for fuel. If you're taking in more calories than your expending, you're going to store it some point in time and it will eventually accumulate as additional body fat. For some people they're more predispose to store that body fat through the hips and through the mid section. In overtime, that can accumulate and cause bulges that are not necessarily wanted especially when you are trying to achieve an overall tone and lean physique. Focusing on training of the musculature will help to keep things nice and tight but more importantly, expending more calories than you're taking in by altering and modifying your diet as well as increasing your activity level will help tap into that body fat to burn that more as fuel. It will take time, it will take patience, as it does take a lot of consistency. Think about how long it took you to accumulate that body fat and it's going to take, if not that much time, if much longer, but that requires a lot of patience and a lot of continuous effort. Even in the best case scenario there may still be some residual collection of fat through there that under extreme circumstances maybe required to have surgery to reduce that. And again, it's more of a cosmetic feel but for the most part, if you stick to a good exercise routine with an overall healthy diet, you will minimize that fat and it does take time, so be patient."
