"Hi, I'm Les Whitley. I'd like to talk to you right now about building your abdominal muscles. The abdominal muscles, just like any other muscle in the body, requires training and effort. To train those abdominal muscles through a variety of ranges of motion for a complete and overall total development requires time focus and effort on your part. One of the main exercises that's used is the crunch or the sit-up in a forward motion which trains the rectus-abdominus or the center portion of the abdominal muscles. The abdominal muscles are part of your overall core which involves your obliques as well as your lower back. For stabilization of your torso in all activities that you are doing. Whether it's walking, running, sitting, standing; overall proper posture. The abdominal muscles and midsection should be trained appropriately using exercises that fit and meet your needs. Training the midsection as a whole through functional exercises will give you an overall better stable environment to operate performing sports or just general daily activities. Training that midsection together to operate as a whole and part of your overall body will give you the development for that overall toned midsection that everyone looks for."
