"Hi, have you ever thought about what it takes to be a good godparent? Well I'd like to share a few tips with you, I'm Dr. Felicia. For beginners you'd like to consult with the parents. Obviously if you're chosen to be the godparent they must value your input, so by all means consult with the parent. See what it is that's their particular ideology for the child, what kind of beliefs they have for the child, what kind of guidance they would like for the child, and of course follow the religious spiritual path, whatever that family deems fit for the child. So you want to mirror the families values all the way through. And then at the same time, remember the whole goal is to have a close guiding relationship with the child, so that means spending time with the child, getting to know the child, and being there for that child, in case of any emergency or event that's necessary. Let the child know that you're in their corner, at the same time you're abiding by the parents beliefs and ideologies. that should help you quite a bit. And good luck with being a godparent, it's quite an honor. God bless. Dr. Felicia signing off."
