"Marking your golf ball on the green, is a very important part of the putting routine. Being sure to mark it correctly, is also very important. My name is Jared Garbett, and I'm with Echo Farms Country Club, and I'm going to teach you how to properly mark your ball, while on the green. After everyone has hit their shot onto the green, everyone is going to walk up onto the green, and mark their golf balls. Now, today I have a coin, but you can also buy a ball marker, at any country club, or pro shop, but typically, everybody has a coin in their pocket, so you can just mark it with your average, everyday quarter, or dime, or nickel. I'm going to approach my ball from behind, and lay the coin down, gently behind the golf ball, so that I know exactly where I put it every single time I mark my golf ball, throughout the round. I gently place the coin behind the ball, and pick my ball up, so I'm not in anybody else's way. After doing this and everybody else has putted. Whenever it becomes my turn again, I'm going to place my ball, directly in front of my ball marker. After making sure the ball is stable and stationary, and is not rolling in any direction, I can remove my coin. I can pick my coin up, put it back in my pocket, and begin my putting routine. That's how you properly mark your golf ball, on the green."
