"Hi, I'm Travis with Mad Dog Cycles in Provo, Utah and we're talking about how to install a BMX crankset on your BMX bike. Now there are several different types of BMX cranksets out there, you need to know which one you have. For an example, we have this one right here, which is a what they consider a three piece crankset. You have one with this arm is one piece, that actually bolts onto the spindle, your bottom bracket spindle and then the other side is the other piece. So you have three pieces one, two and three and also you have different size bottom bracket shells. You have Spanish, Mid, and American and European. So you need to know which frame you have to install the bottom bracket or the crankset. When you buy the crankset you should be able to know, well there should be instructions on how to install this crankset. The most common is the one piece crankset, this is one continuous piece that goes through the frame and out the other side. This is what they call American size shell, so if you have American size you can use one piece because it's big enough to go through there. You can also buy a three piece crankset that will fit an American shell as well."
