"Tom Boyer, Chalk Creek Boers, talking about how to groom and fit your goats for show. We like to use a stand like this one where it can be let down to the ground. You can put your animal on there, your goat on there and attach its head in here. Raise it back up and then begin to groom your animal. Grooming the animal includes several steps. One making sure the feet are trimmed properly, so she can stand or he can stand properly in the show ring and move properly. Other things include clipping the goat, so that you can maximize the traits that you'd like to maximize. For example if you'd like to increase the length of that goat you can shear off the belly and lengthen the top line a little bit by leveling it. Other things you can do are emphasize leg muscling, increase neck length by clipping in the appropriate areas to increase those or accentuate those particular features of the goat."
