"Tom Boyer again at Chalk Creek Boers talking about different breeds of goats. In the pen here we have a combination of Boer goats, full blood and percentage, and there are some commercial goats in here. The commercial goats are a mixture of Spanish Angora and Boer. Other meat breeds include Pygmy, Norwegian Dwarf, Kikcos and the variety of other goats that are less common in the United States. Then of course there's the dairy breeds, and those are all focused on milk production as in addition to some meat production as a secondary bi-product. Obviously dairy goats produce milk, and meat goats produce meat, but like the differences between beef cattle and dairy cattle, their main purposes in the case of meat goats is to produce meat which is one of the worlds greatest consumed meats, and the dairy goat are to produce milk."
