"Hi this is Laura Turner and today I'm going to talk with you about how to become a caption writer. First of all what you are going to want to do is get a job with the national caption institute. That is of course after you've tested yourself in your own home by actually putting on DVD's and TV shows and trying to see just how fast you can caption. Which means just how fast you can type along with what's being said. Remember that as a caption writer you are also going to be writing not only dialog but also paraphrasing dialog sometimes when it's going a little bit too fast for you. And you are also going to be writing sound effects and things that are happening in the background along with your dialog. So really try to train yourself to figure out how to be a great caption writer and hopefully you will be able to get that job and start paraphrasing for people who are unfortunate enough not to be able to hear them."
