Hi, I'm Dr. Aimee Beger. I'm a veterinarian. And today, we're going to talk about treating or diagnosing your dog's hair loss. Hair loss in pets can come from a variety of reasons, such as external parasites, allergies, self trauma where they're licking excessively; even medical problems with internal organs such as the adrenal glands and the thyroid glands. Ways to determine the cause of your pet's hair loss are to, of course, seek your veterinarian's help. Your veterinarian will will most likely recommend doing blood work on your pet to determine if there is anything wrong internally, as well as doing tests on the skin, such as a skin scrape, or a fungal culture, or even to the extent of biopsying your dog's ... And also, your veterinarian may want to do further testing on your skin, on your dog's skin, such as skin scrapes all the way up to biopsies of your dog's skin.
