"Hi, I'm Dr. Aimee Beger and today we're going to be talking about spaying and neutering your pets. Spaying and neutering is very advantageous for many reasons. Of course we do have an over population of pets in this country, and spaying and neutered programs around the country has been set up to help to decrease the unwanted pet population. We do recommend spaying and neutering your pets, cats and dogs included, around 6 months of age. The spaying and neutering also helps to prevent some medical problems such as prostate disease and breast cancer in your dog and cat, and your dog marking his territory. If your dog is not neutered or spayed, neutering him or her would be a very good idea to help deter or stop the behavior. And again at six months of age we do recommend having you go to see your veterinarian and setting up a surgery."
