Video Transcript

"Hi, I'm Dr. Aimee Beger and today we are going to be talking about prescription drugs for your pet. Included in that we will be talking a little bit about vaccinations for cats and dogs as well. In order to get your dog vaccinated or your cat vaccinated what we would recommend is that you develop a good client patient veterinarian relationship with a veterinarian in your town. Go on make an appointment and come in. They will do an exam on your pet and will talk to you a little bit about vaccines. Typically in puppies we recommend vaccinating them at eight weeks, twelve weeks and sixteen weeks of age. You probably hear little Mishka here in the background. She is maybe saying no to vaccines. The first vaccines that we give is parvo, distemper, parainfluenza and that's at eight weeks. We repeat it again at twelve weeks. At which time we also give the bordetella vaccine which is used to prevent kennel cough in dogs. At sixteen weeks of age we also do the rabies vaccination along with a booster of the distemper, parvo and para influenza. We want to vaccinate your dog to prevent them from getting any of these diseases. Some of which can be very deadly. Prescription drugs. If you need to get prescription drugs the best way to get them is through your veterinarian. Either at their pharmacy or by a written script from them. Which you can take to your compounding pharmacy or pet pharmacy or even your human pharmacy. The other option is to also get them online."
