"Hi, this is Laura Turner and today I'm going to talk with you about how to write a book about your mother. First of all you want to ask yourself is this going to be a factual account of your mothers life or is it going to be a fictional account, or is it going to be your mother transposed into a book or a play or something that you're going to write about her without actually writing about her. So first of all establish that for yourself. In order to establish that, think about why do you want to write this book about your mother, and that will probably lead your toward whether it's going to be fact or fiction. Next, of course, write down all the interesting facts in a sentence in your mother's life, all the things that you can remember about her, all the adjectives that you can use to describe her. Of course if your mother is still living, you can, you know, talk with your mother and you know figure out what she's like from there and then proceed to of course write her memoirs or whatever you're doing with that. Next, you're going to start writing a book. And think about are you going to write the book from her perspective or from your perspective. Are you going to be writing about your memories of her? Or are you going to be writing about her memories of her life you know through your eyes? So think about that as well. And really try to be honest and true to her life and memory especially if she has passed away. You want to think about you know what would she say if she read this and it's very obviously about her. If it's not obviously about her, and you transposed her into a character, I would say you could do pretty much anything you would like with her. And you can say anything you would like about her. But if you're actually making it like... you know, this is a book about my mother. This is her factual existence, you know try to really give some integrity to it and not let a lot of your emotional baggage into it if you have some. And finally, what makes your mother's life more interesting than others, so that you do feel compelled to write this book about her. And how can you market the book? And those are some tips for writing a book about your mother."
