"Hi, my name is Reka Morvway. I'm a psychologist and I'm going to talk to you today about how to break up with a long term boyfriend. If you find yourself in a situation where after a long relationship you understand that this is no longer the right situation and the right relationship for you, then it is time to sit down and to discuss the breakup with your boyfriend. Remember that this is going to be a very difficult and very emotional situation for both of you, and this is a person that you lived with for a long time for some reason. So my advice would be to try to be considerate, especially if you are the one initiating the breakup. Be firm, explain your motivations, explain your feelings, but you are the one who is initiating this so you have to draw up the ground rules. Make sure that you are fair, and make sure that you are considerate of your partner's feelings because usually these kinds of breakup situations bring out the very, very strong negative emotions. So all the problems that you had in your relationship that have led you to the breakup will probably come up magnified in this emotional situation of the breakup, so remember to stay calm and remember to stay fair and equitable to your partner in this situation."
