"Hi, I'm Sundae from Natural Sundae and if you're wondering what the dress code required for a massage therapist I can give you a little bit of insight. Now it depends on where you're employed as a massage therapist. If you're employed - if you're self-employed, you can work at a spa or salon, you can work for a chiropractor. Each different employment scenario depending on the taste and preferences of the owner have their own specific uniforms. Some actually don't even have uniforms. Some wear regular street clothing but there has to be some specific rules involved. Now one of the most comfortable reliable things to wear if you're a massage therapist are scrubs. There are very comfortable, they have lots of pockets and they are not revealing at all. They let you bend and move, massage therapists are constantly having to get into positions to really bring force from their core and to give their clients a nice massage. You need to not have to worry about bending over and exposing yourself. So scrubs are always a great option. Some employers like to have little aprons over their clothes and that's fine as long as you have some pockets, but the main concern is the clothes underneath the aprons. If you're a self employed massage therapist or if you work anywhere and you're wearing your own clothes, the most important things to remember is you need to look professional, first of all, on your body not only on your feet and we'll talk about that in a minute. Your clothes need to be very professional, you need to present yourself in a professional manner, this is not a parlor, you're not a masseuse anymore, you're a professional massage therapist coming across in a professional manner. You don't need to wear spaghetti straps or tank tops, you need to wear something that doesn't expose you in any kind of a way. As far as shoes go, most people like to wear something that supports their back, like I said before massage is a very hard job. It has a lot of physical demands and therefore it's going to take a toll on the massage therapist. Nice comfortable sneakers with nice back support are the best choice that you can make. Some massage therapists tend to like to massage barefoot, and that's fine too but I don't recommend massaging barefoot unless you want your clients looking through the hole at your feet. If you want to look professional as possible all the time, if you're not going to get a pedicure everyday, I wouldn't recommend massaging in your bare feet, and plus it's not good on your back. So the main things to consider when you're wondering what the dress code is for a massage therapist, be professional and don't expose yourself and make sure that you take care of your body. I am Sundae with Natural Sundae. Take care."
