"Hi, I'm Sundae with Natural Sundae and if you've ever wondered what Shiatsu is, I'm here to tell you. Now Shiatsu is a traditional form of Japanese touch therapy and then the name itself means finger pressure. And in Shiatsu, the practitioner will use pressure from the hand, the palms of the hands, the fingers the thumbs, the forearms, the elbows, the knees and the feet. And what this does is the practitioner focuses on specific points, energy points in the body to help the energy flow as freely as possible and as unblock as possible. Now there are two types of energy. We've all heard of Yin and Yang. Well Yin is the negative energy and Yang is the positive energy. And in Shiatsu the theory stands that the Yin meridians and the Yin energy points are located on the front of the body and the Yang energy points or the positive energy points are located on the back. And to achieve full balance in the body, the Yin meridians must be balanced and unblocked and the Yang elements and the meridians must be balanced and unblocked. Now in a typical Shiatsu sessions what happens is the practitioner will focus on specific sites, they'll apply specific static pressure to these points allowing the energy to flow freely and naturally. And this is the theory that maintains health in the Japanese society and again Shiatsu is a traditional form of Japanese touch therapy, meaning finger-pressure. I'm Sundae with Natural Sundae. Take care!"
