"Hi, I'm Sundae with Natural Sundae. Have you ever wondered what a deep tissue massage is? Well, I can tell you. Now a deep tissue massage is much like a relaxation massage; but it's aim at the deeper muscle and fascio structures of the body. In other words, it's aim to affect the muscles underneath the muscles underneath the muscles. So you're, you're, a typical relaxation massage won't do you. Now the focus of a deep tissue massage is not only relaxation but it goes much further than this. You want to be able to penetrate those muscle, fibers and tissues to really enhance flexibility, mobility, range of motion. You want to increase circulation and of course you want to decrease muscle pain. Now some of the movements that a therapist will do during a deep tissue massage are much like the techniques use in a Swedish massage except of course, you're going to go deeper and much of the power, a massage therapist uses them a lot of power during a deep tissue massage; they're kind of hard to do. And you're going to ruin your arms and your wrists and your hands and all your joints that you apply so much pressure to if you don't use your core. So most massage therapists, most good deep tissue massage therapists work from their core. This is where all their power comes from. Something that differentiate a Swedish relaxation massage from a deep tissue massage is that during a Swedish massage, every area of the body is worked; while doing a deep tissue massage, since you're really trying to make some changes and effect this in such a positive way, that you don't have time to focus on every single part of the body in such depths. So you usually just going to work on one or two specific pain sites. And another thing that's a little bit different about deep tissue is during a Swedish massage, therapists use their hands. Well, there's nothing wrong with that, you're not using too much pressure. But in the deep tissue massage like I mentioned before, there's a lot of power and a lot of force required and if you keep, if that therapist keeps using their fingers and their hands to push, that's really detrimental to their body as well. So these are tools. This is one of the tools, it's a little plastic tool and you put it between your fingers like this and this is what you press on on the tissue. It really makes the difference and it really saves the therapist. So deep tissue like I said is a massage that is aim at the deeper structures of the body. It gets underneath all those muscles at the source of that pain. So I hope you've learn a little bit today about deep tissue. I'm Sundae with Natural Sundae."
