"Hi, I'm Sundae with Natural Sundae. And if you're wondering what kind of benefits massage therapists receive, I can help you. Now there's good news and there's bad news. I'll hit you with the good news first. The good news is that massage therapists do receive many kinds of benefits. The first benefit that you receive as a massage therapist is you stay in shape. It's really hard, it's a lot of work; although it's a wonderful job, but it really kind of kick your butt sometimes. If you've got eight massages in a row, you really going to be strong, you're going to develop really strong arm muscles. You're going to develop strong core muscles because your core is what is going to be able to propel you through each massage. So you stay in shape, that's the first benefit. The second benefit is that you receive benefits inside. I know it may sound a little corny, but most massage therapists are massage therapists because they love to help people and they love to sort of go into their own zone and just sort of let their intuition guide them. It really makes me feel wonderful when I help a client and like I said, it's a form of meditation for me. I sort of zone out, I forget my own problems, I can concentrate specifically on my client. And knowing that I help them and knowing that I help all parts of them; their physical body, their mental capacity and their mental stress that everyone goes through when they're stressed out and then also emotional stress. Massage takes all of that away. And knowing that I did it is fantastic. So those are two benefits that I receive on a daily basis as a massage therapist. Now the bad news is that you don't receive health benefits. Now some may get lucky and some may work for somebody with a lot of money or some very generous employer. On the hole though, massage therapists do not get health benefits. Mostly because you have to either, you work for yourself and you got to pay for your insurance yourself or you work for like I said a salon or a spa or a chiropractor and you're independent contractor then, you're still responsible that, for that yourself. So there's good news and bad news, mostly it's good though, I love my job and I wouldn't change it and I wouldn't have it any other way. I'm Sundae with Natural Sundae."
