"Hi, I'm Sundae with Natural Sundae, and I'm going to give you a little bit of information about massage schools in Florida. Now, there's a little bit you need to know. Massage schools in Florida vary in the number of hours required. Florida requires a minimum of 500 hours. Some schools just offer 500 hours, and of course, there are schools that go above and beyond that and offer 750 to 1,000 hours. And of course, the price and curriculum are reflected in those types of schools. In massage therapy school, it's a wonderful program. The curriculum is very heavy in anatomy, which is the study of the structure of the body. They're very heavy in physiology, which is the study of how the body works together. And it's very heavy in hands-on experience, and this is very important. Massage therapy school kind of pushes you into a new situation with total strangers and you're touching them. You're not used to...you don't know these people, so it's kind of a weird situation. But they give you a lot of experience on getting to know people and feeling comfortable touching them. And also being touched as a client, you get a lot of experience getting massaged, which was one of my favorite parts. I got a massage every day, and that hasn't happened since. So you're very lucky when you go to massage school. But you get a lot of practice, as a client. And what I mean by this is you get a lot of knowledge about what not to do. Massage therapy schools also teach you a little bit in hydrotherapy, which is how to heal with hot and cold water, how to heal with ice, which is cryotherapy, how to heal with fragrant molecules from herbs, plants, and flowers, and this is called aromatherapy, and a little bit in acupressure, which is the Chinese study of how energy flows through the body. So that's just a little bit of information about massage therapy school. I hope you've learned a little bit. I hope you go out and find yourself a good one. I'm Sundae with Natural Sundae."
