"Hi, I'm Sundae with Natural Sundae, and if you're wondering about what you need to consider when you're looking for a business location for a massage practice, I can help you a little bit. Now, the first thing you want to consider is you want to locate yourself in a part of town where that's going to draw the kind of customers that you want to draw into your business. You don't want to have your practice out in the ghetto and, you know, want to draw people that are going to, you know...going to be able to put money in your pocket, in other words. So you want to choose a business location appropriate for the clients that you want to draw. The second thing you want to consider is you want to make sure that your location has adequate parking, safe parking, and safe street lighting. You always want to make sure that you pick a nice, safe environment for your customers. You also want to make sure that the business location that you choose is accessible and easy to get to from both sides of the road. I know sometimes the streets around Florida, you can't...you can only make a turn one way, and so you need up having to go all the way around the block just to make a turn. You want to make it easy. You also want to make sure that there's not too much competition around you. You don't want to move into a plaza where there's a massage therapist. I mean, that's just, you know, basic common sense. And then the last thing to consider is you want to make sure that there are other businesses around you that support your reason for being there. You want to make sure, maybe, there are other green-minded businesses that you can use to help cross-promote each other and help build each other's businesses. Maybe there's a wine...a little wine store down the road that maybe you can do some chair massaging for their clients and, you know, vice versa. You can really, you know, find some interesting ways to draw customers and do nice things for them -- that way, they'll want to come back. So those are just a few things to consider when choosing a general location. And real quick, when you choose a building, you just want to remember that the building meets health and safety codes and you can go to the Florida Department of Health to check and see what all the rules and regulations are. And you want to always remember that when you open a massage therapy practice, that you apply for a massage establishment license. That is a license that's required in any establishment where massage therapy is practiced, and it's the way that the state regulates the profession and protects the public. So those are just a few things to consider when deciding where to open up a massage therapy practice, and they're all important. So I hope you learned a little bit today. I'm Sundae with Natural Sundae. Have a wonderful day."
