"Hi, my name is Steve Munoz. I'm with Duncan Business Machines and we're going to find out: do you need a phone line for a fax machine to work? How can I put this...yes. This is a phone line, and without it, it will not work. When the day comes that somebody does make a fax machine not to work with a phone line, it'd be somebody else's. I could be hauling something like this, put it in a truck, hook that up to this, with this gadget here and it would work. But could you imagine me hauling this into the truck? No, they will not work without a phone line. Sometimes you may have problems, and think that there's something wrong with the fax machine, when really there isn't anything wrong with the machine. It could be this cord, it could be a jack, and phone line problems instead of a fax machine. So, yes, you do need a phone line for a fax to work."
