"Hi, my name is Reka Morvay, I'm a psychologist and I'm going to talk to you today about how to fight in a relationship. Having disagreements are, is an integral part of any relationship, including your romantic relationship. Having arguments exchanging views and debating about issues that are important are to you can be a very healthy part of your relationship where you get to know how the other person thinks and what they feel. Fighting however, goes a little bit beyond that and it implies that there is a bit of a loss of control over how you discuss these issues that you disagree on. Fighting can be a, it can have positive, it can have negative effects on your relationship. Some positive effects may be that issues that have been impossible to discuss in a more calm manner might come up and it might give you the grounds for solving problems that exist in your relationship. This can be a positive effect. A negative effect is if your fights leave you feeling drained, feeling depressed, feeling hurt. It is individual and it's different in every relationship what fights mean to you. Some couples seem to thrive on fighting, they need a good fight every once in awhile to liven up their relationship and then making up afterwards can bring romance back into the relationship. If you find that you are fighting too much and making up too little and you're fighting in a way that is very hurtful to both of you, then it is time to sit down and perhaps seek professional help to try to get through those issues that are causing those fights between you."
