Hi I'm Sundae from Natural Sundae and if you are wondering what Tui na Massage is I can tell you. Now Tui na Massage is actually a Chinese form of touch therapy that has been around for over 2,000 years and the basis of Tui na Massage is that there are energy channels or meridians in your body and if you have the energy flowing them that is unblocked and balanced at the same time you will have you can be able to maintain health and also prevent disease. There are three techniques that are commonly used in Tui na Massage. The first technique of course is massage which is the manipulation of soft tissue which means muscles, tendons and connective tissue. The second type of therapy is acupressure which is putting specific pressure on energy points in the body to allow energy to flow very freely and to be balance and the third type of technique used is manipulation of the musculoskeletal system which means manipulating the skeleton and the muscles to work correctly and in proportion to one another. Now in the typical Tui na Massage it is not done on a massage table. It is done on a mat on the floor with the client fully clothed so no oils or creams are used and the client usually wants to wear loose clothing so that the therapist can really not have to worry about obstructions caused by tight clothing and so actually the client is also as comfortable as possible. Now what happens in a typical Tui na session is the practitioner will focus on specific pain sites and try to manipulate that soft tissue to help release the pain that will also focus on acupressure points and the energy meridians to help that energy be able to flow seamlessly, effortlessly and without blockages. They want to balance that energy so it can run very smoothly through the body and maintain health. The third technique is manipulation of that soft tissue and so they can use joint mobilization, muscle compression and all these things work together as a whole to create health in the mind, body and spirit so Tui na is a traditional form of Chinese touch therapy that has been around for 2,000 years and it is holistic meaning it touches the physical body, the mental body and the emotional body. I'm Sundae with Natural Sundae.
