"When riding in a hunter under saddle class the first thing you want to make sure of is that your horse is extremely well groomed. They should be shining clean, clipped well, their mane should be braided in most cases. You won't want to have any bell boots on, there feet should be very clean, and you don't want to have any boots on. As for tack you aren't allowed to have a martingale on, you want to have a basic bridle, no flash nose band, no figure eight, you want to keep the bit pretty simple. You want to have a fitted white show pad, a hunt seat saddle, and a leather or fuzzy girth, and all of your tack should be very clean, and as far as for riding in a class you want to do everything you can to get your horse seen, they should be forward and nice moving, and they should be able to go on a very soft contact."
