"Hi, this is Yolanda Vanveen, and in this segment, we're going to talk about how to grow grass over the septic tank. Well, here's living proof that the grass is always greener over the septic tank. Now, when we moved into the house almost two years ago, they pumped the septic system and they dug up where the access was. So we were left with a big, brown spot when we moved in. So what we did was wait until the fall, sow only grass seed in the fall and the spring, put some compost down and quite a bit of grass seed, and then by that winter, the grass came right up and lush and full. Well, this has been now a year, and now there's some weeds coming in -- quite a lot in this area, actually. So it's almost the middle of winter, so it's getting too cold at night to start new seed. So this spring, what I'll do is just put a lot of grass seed over this whole area. By adding grass seed every spring and fall to your garden, it'll grow lush and full the next year, and that way, you'll have green grass over the septic tank and the entire area."
