"Hi I'm Doctor Savage, I'm here to discuss how serious toxic shock syndrome is. To start that off, it is extremely dangerous. It is life threatening. And the thing about this is that it starts off with symptoms such as fever, low blood pressure, and a skin rash. The skin rash typically is a generalized rash, but with that said, sometimes this syndrome, the toxic shock syndrome, can happen from skin infections. There are other ways for you to get it including infections in the throat and for females infections and bacteria in the vagina. And eventually what may happen is multi organ system failure. And that means that it's, multiple organs in your body shut down. And this includes the brain, the heart, and the kidneys. It also can involve the bowels so you know with that said, this is a life threatening condition. And if there is any questions, if you or a loved one has toxic shock syndrome in fact if anybody you know has toxic possibly has toxic shock syndrome, have them seek medical attention immediately.
