"Now, I'm going to tell you, how to set up a personal training business, so first, you want to get yourself a certification. Some of the most notable certifications are, American College of Sports Medicine, which is the ACSM, and AFAA, A-F-A-A, which is Aerobics Fitness Association of America, so you want to make sure you get yourself in one of the top ten recognizable certifications, to ensure safety, and to ensure that people are confident in the trainer that you are. Second, you definitely want to get liability insurance, to also ensure your safety as a trainer, just in case anything happens, so you want to make sure, usually you can get that through your certification, actually. They offer different types of liability insurance, upon you getting your certification. Thirdly, you definitely want to make sure you go over some medical history forms. It's important to get a background check, on the person you'll be working with, to ensure that you can work with them, and it's ok to turn somebody down, if you feel like you can't handle them, so remember that, it's ok to turn somebody down, if you feel like you can't handle, whatever it is they're bringing to the table. Next, you want to get a liability form. Just to make sure again, you're signing off, to be safe, working with the potential clients that you'll have. Once you have all that put together, when you first consult with your client, you want to make sure that you have an assessment, so you can go over again, just to ensure their safety and your safety, as to where they're going to begin their workout, and then you guys can kind of do a consensus, of the achievements or the goals, that you want to achieve, and lastly, how to get some clients. Now, this is usually the hardest step, and it's hard at first, but what I do recommend, in order to promote yourself, sometimes you want to do free consults, or discounted consults, so people can see your training, get a feel for how you work with people. The best way for people to see if you're the type of a trainer that they want, is to watch, so what you want to do first, get a certification. Get some liability insurance, then definitely put together some forms, and consult with the client, and talk about what they want to achieve, the goals they want to achieve, and definitely demonstrate your ability."
