"I'm Jonathan Ayres with Network For Success and today we're going to talk about what is a monitor. Well, a monitor is a device that displays information on a screen. Monitors look just like TV sets except they're flat. Well, our new generations of TVs is flat also, they're known as LCDs or Plasmas. But our computer screens are what we commonly know as monitors. So for example, I have behind me right here a computer screen on a Macintosh computer and this is a monitor. What it does is it displays the information from the computer so that I can see it and work with it. Now also, right next to me I have another type of computer screen monitor. This one also displays the information and allows me to operate my computer."
