"So, then the most standard option for doing collage work, especially for beginners if you want to start with something more simple in order to get the hang of it, but also can achieve really beautiful effects. And a lot of pieces that I do tend to use a lot of color palette paper, which is what I consider this to be. This is from an actual photography artist book, but it has some great possibilities within the range of colors. In the backgrounds and patterns, which I'll get into more later. So you want to make sure that you have a nice little variety, you have some old magazines that you have next to you. Sometimes you might even want to use print. It just depends on what effect you're going for. So make sure that you just have a nice variety at hand the whole time because as I'm working you'll see, I continue to kind of go back into books when I'm looking for a specific type of pattern or I'm just wanting to be inspired by something. I always like to have a variety of things that I can look through while I'm trying to process what palette I'm working with next, or what colors I'm actually looking for."
