"I don't know about you but I like my fish in my aquarium alive. We're going to talk about how to not kill your fish. My name is Michael. Best way to not kill your fish is make sure you maintain your tank properly. Fish should be fed on a daily basis. You can feed them twice a day. You're going to feed them as much food as they're going to eat in about a three minute period. Keep an eye on that, you don't want a lot of food sitting down at the bottom. Food and fish waste are pollutants that can affect water quality. Do a monthly water change. Bring your tank down 25 percent, do it with a gravel siphon. Treat your water, fill it back up again. Maintain proper filtration. Your filter itself should be changed once a month, the carbon that's in it is only good for about that. Your light, your fish should have a daytime and a nighttime cycle and you want to leave your tank on no more than 12 hours a day. Any more than that and we're going to grow some green algae, any less than that we're going to grow brown algae and its also going to stress the fish out. Temperature is really important so let's make sure we're maintaining a constant temperature. As a general rule of thumb I say somewhere around mid-70's up to about 78 degrees. How to kill your fish, that's not what we want to know, we want to know how to keep them alive. So enjoy your tank, maintain it properly and you'll have pleasant, happy, swimming fish. My name is Michael, enjoy your tank."
