"Hi. My name is Ryan Wells. I'm the owner of a local fish store located in Lindon, Utah called Reef Runners. A lot of people come in asking for beginner sets or something to set up to get into the fresh, the saltwater hobby. There really is no ideal or beginner set up. It all determines on what you're wanting to do and accomplish with this tank. Some things you may want to keep in mind when setting up a brand new or beginner set up, is keep in mind that the larger the tank, the easier it is to maintain and less demand you'll have on your own expertise and knowledge. So I recommend getting at least a fifty-five gallon or larger. Smaller tanks require more expertise and do not forgive the user as readily as these larger tanks. You want to have a good filtration system. There's lots of different methods to go about this. Ask your local fish store owner, or you can contact us at area code 801-796-5733. Also if you're going to be doing a reef, another key element to setting up a brand new tank is your lights. Make sure you get lights that are compatible for your different coral species. Remember, this is their food source, so it is very important that you get the correct amount of lighting."
