"Hi, my name is Scott, and I'm the owner of Climb On! indoor rock climbing gym in Wilmington, North Carolina. Today we're going to discuss rock climbing gear. One of the most important pieces of gear that you would want to own when you start to rock climb is your harness. Your harness is going to be your life line to hold you up. So whether you're climbing in an indoor gym or outside, your harness is very important to have and to be fitted correctly. The harness that we use is made from Misty, Misty Mountain in North Carolina. Great harnesses, really strong, got good padding on it, all the way around so if you're in it all day it's comfortable. There are a lot of different brands of harnesses and different makes, depending on the type of climbing you're doing. This is a, this is a harness for trad climbing. It has a lot of gear loops, a very wide back band, and lots of padding, so it's going to be extremely comfortable. This, along with every other piece of gear that you're going to want to use, take proper instruction to learn correctly how to put it on and use it. It has specific tie in points, and specific belay loop. Again, this is rock climbing gear."
