"Hi, my name is Dave Andrews. Today I'm going to tell you how to decide what to put on your laptop. When you're looking for a laptop in the store, one thing that you're going to have to consider is the overall size of your laptop. Laptops can go from very small to mid-sized, like this one, to actual large desktop replacement-size laptops. Now, they measure those in inches and that's usually from the top left hand side down to the bottom right hand side, is that measurement that they give you in inches. Now this one is a 17 inch laptop, and as you can see they go from 10 inches to 15 inches and on up. But as you can see, the size of the screen is going to dictate the overall size of the laptop because the bottom will match the top exactly to keep that proportion. And that's going to change a little bit how your keyboard rests on the bottom, as well as how large your mousepad is. If I had a smaller laptop, say 10 inches, you could see that my keyboard would be a whole lot more compact as well as my mousepad down at the bottom. The next thing that you're going to want to consider when deciding what you want on your laptop is the actual weight of the laptop. How sturdy is it if you pick it up in the store? Does it seem a little flimsy? Also, you're going to be possibly carrying it around with you so weight is a huge issue. Now the last thing that you need to consider is going to be the operating system on the laptop. Most new laptops you see in the store are going to come with Windows Vista, but they also sell Macintosh laptops, and that's going to affect the software that you can run on it. My name is Dave Andrews, and I've just told you what to consider to put onto your laptop."
