"Hi my name is Hester Lox. I am a Professional Organizer based in the San Francisco Bay area. The most difficult experience I have had in 16 years of organizing happened when I was maybe a year or two into it. With, the sum result was that I had not properly prepared my client for what she needed to bring to the process to make it work properly. I didn't head off at the pass things that I now know to do. For example I was helping her to get packed up to move out of her home into another home. I did not get clearly enough what do you want me to pack now, what do you want me to leave unpacked so you can send it to your cousin or have it available in your car when you actually move? I did not get clear with her to dedicate this time to work with me. She spent 45 minutes typing her husband's dissertation. I did not know because of my inexperience to say in advance you need to bring that time here. The other thing that went with that was her husband was of course, her husband was affected by this process. I did not take his needs into account to make sure he didn't feel trampled on to make sure they were on the same page about what is this process? What are you paying for? What do you expect to get out of it? There were tension that got set up between them. The summary is it's all about experience. I have learned since then to ask the right questions before I start to make sure these things don't happen. If there is no way I can make sure they're not going to happen, I have turned down a job once. Again my name is Hester Lox and I am a Professional Organizer based in the San Francisco Bay area."
