"My name is Hester Lox. I am a Professional Organizer based in the San Francisco Bay area and the practical tools of my trade are the ones that I use to help my clients reach their goals. Since we can't discuss everything here today the example that I brought was one of my absolutely favorite tools in the world which is an alpha-accordion organizer. I will show you what I do and then say why. A birthday card from my niece. I would put this under Arlene, A for Arlene. Here is my current check book. It goes under M for money. It could go under B for banking. This is a photograph that I found that I want to frame and hang up under P for photographs, etc. The advantage of something like this and it gets easier to use as you go along is you get your stuff off your table, off your desk into at least a temporary sorting place until you can actually file things. Most of my paper is in here and some of it for a long time, some is cleaned out and actually filed frequently. The other tool that I carry with me in my car and it goes into every job is my actual little tool kit which says front so that I don't try to open it from the wrong side and in here I have what looks primarily like office tools. I have a calculator, for the calculator my mom gave me, scissors, marker pen for making boxes, labeling boxes with what's in them. I have scotch tape if I want to help someone hang a book shelf. I have a level. Other office supplies that I use, a lot of my clients have unopened mail. I carry a letter opener with me, a stapler. The basic things that you need once you have your materials sorted to keep track of what you have. I think probably the most valuable one of those is a letter opener because so many people have unopened mail and are scared of opening it and then the other one I have in here also labeled with front is a smaller box. This is actually a fishing tackle box and in it are other basic desk supplies like paper lips. These are the basics that I have with me all the time to do my job. My name is Hester Lox. I am a Professional Organizer based in the San Francisco Bay area."
