"My name is Ryan Parker with Parker Home Renovations in New Braunfels, Texas and today I'm going to teach you how to replace a door. If you have a damaged door or a door that is swollen or warped and no longer fits and you need to replace it you can go down to any hardware store to do so. What you need to do is you need to measure the opening of the door, height and width and go down to your local home improvement store and you can give them the measurements and they can find a door for you. You need to know if it is an interior door or an exterior door, whether you want it to be steel or wood, whether you want it to be solid core or hollow core. There are many options to choose from as far as designs as well so you need to make up your mind before you get down there or before you decide to purchase one, which one you want. The first thing you need to do once you get your new door is you come in and take out the old door. So what you do is you open up the door and you have to get a screw gun and unscrew the screws from the hinge on all the hinges of the door to disconnect the door from the door jam. Then you'll need to take your door knob hardware off and remove the hinge from the door side also. You'll have to get the hinge completely off the door in order to put it on the new door. Now they have different types of new doors. They have the pre-drilled ones and then they have the blank ones. The blank doors do not have the hole for the door knob hardware, you have to drill it yourself and they're usually not mortised for the hinges either. But the pre-drilled ones do have the hole already drilled and they're already mortised for a hinge. So I prefer to use a pre-drill just because it saves you some work. So once you get your pre-drilled and it is already mortised, bring it back to the house, mount the hinge in your mortise slot and you'll want to pop your screws back in the door and then you'll want to hold on to the door. You might need to get somebody to help you keep the door up to keep it level and in place and then you'll pop the screws in the other set of the hinge to screw the door to the door jam and then you'll mount your door knob hardware back on the door and then you have hung your door."
