"My name's Ryan Parker with Parker Home Renovations, and today I'm going to teach you how to repair a tile. A lot of people that have tile in their homes know that if you drop something heavy, it could chip the top of the tile or crack it. Today I'm going to teach you how to fix that. Now the first thing you need to do is you need to find a piece of scrap tile. Hopefully you have one in the existing color that's cracked, and you can just replace it with that piece. If you don't, you'll have to take out the piece that's cracked on the floor, take a sample down to a tile store of any kind and try to color match it. They do have different shades and different run numbers of tile, so you may not be able to match the piece you have perfectly. Okay, so the first thing that you need to do to take out the tile that's cracked, is you need to go to the store and you'll have to get you a grout scraper, you'll need a pry bar, you'll need an actual scraper, a hammer, a pair of gloves, safety glasses, and a bucket. Now, always wear safety glasses because whenever you're breaking tile, it's very sharp. It's almost like glass. It can cut you, get in your eye and really hurt you. So the first thing you need to do is get your grout scraper and you want to scratch out the grout joints all the way around the tile that's cracked. Then with your safety glasses on, you'll want to get a hammer and you'll want to actually bust that tile more than it's already broken to try to create a hole in the middle of the tile. Then you'll get your pry bar and you'll want to hammer in that hole to pry up those pieces. Make sure you have your gloves on. And you grab those pieces and pull them out, put them in your bucket, vacuum off the area, use your scraper to scrape down the thin set that is stuck to the concrete. You'll want to get it back down to the bare concrete. Then you'll get your new tile. You'll have to get a bag of thin set from a tile store and then you'll spread your thin set on the back of your tile, stick it back in the opening, press down on it gently, and then you'll want to re-grout around the tile. And that's how you repair a cracked tile. My name's Ryan Parker, Parker Home Renovations. You can visit me at parkerhomerenovations.com."
