"My name's Ryan Parker, with Parker Home Renovations in New Braunfels, Texas and today I'm going to teach you how to paint around windows. Now, the first thing you're going to need, is you're going to need the type of paint you want to use. You'll need some 3M blue tape, either a two inch or a three inch roll, you'll need a scraper, an angled paint brush, and you'll need some sandpaper. Now, first thing you're going to need to do, is you're going to need to tape off the areas that you do not want to paint. You'll want to tape off the actual window, you'll want to tape off the wall, anything that you don't want to get this type of paint on. Then you want to scrape your window casing and get all of the excess paint and film off of it, by scraping and sanding it down. Now, if you sand it past the existing paint, you may have to prime it before you paint it. Now, you want to identify whether you want to use a semi-gloss, a satin, or a gloss paint. Gloss and semi-gloss is easier to take care of, easier to get stains off of. O.k, now what you want to do after you've taped everything off, after you've sanded it down and scraped it down, is you want to get your angled paint brush and you'll dip it in the can of paint, and then you'll have long even brush strokes along the casing of the window. You want to make sure you get good coverage on the windows but you don't want to cake it on there, to where it runs.
