"I'm here with Julie. She is going to demonstrate our dancer's pose for you. So we're going to continue with this balance, shifting the wight again on to the right leg. There is a slight moving over with the weight to shift over to that right foot. Lift the left foot and with the inside palm, palm facing the outside wall she is going to pick up that back foot. Inhale bring the right arm over head and extend long through the side body. On the exhale press the back foot in to the hand and begin to move into dancer so the energy is spreading forward and back instead of up and down. So there's a strong centering of a standing leg at the same time as opposition to balance the pose. You need that opposing force, reaching forward through the right hand and pressing the foot strongly into the back hand to reach that balance. To come out of this pose simply lift the torso and then release the leg ready to go to the other side. Shifting the weight now on to the left foot, rotate the eye of the elbow to face the outer wall and pick up that back foot. Inhale the left arm up and exhale, press the foot into the hand so you create a nice negative space here between the calm and the hamstring so the your idea is to really pull that away from each other, opening the heart and opening the shoulder. Remember to breathe in this pose."
