"Okay so we have our first tuft of hair. And we're going to stick this tuft just right over here in some place near by and we're going to stick it on Ashley's shoulder. Just so I can get to it. Alright so if you'll remember just really quick a braiding technique. You usually take three strands like that okay. You want to get as close and as tight to the root as possible. Okay. And so you're going to get your three strands of hair okay. And you have this middle one right here alright and you're going to stick the tuft of hair, it's quite large for what we're doing but you're going to stick that tuft of hair under, basically, sorry, over the middle and under the other two. So it looks something like this. Okay. And so you're going to hold on to the three, the three smaller tufts with your hand and make sure that's situated and even. You want to make sure that they're even on that end. And then you start by crossing this one under, wait, no we're going to go cornrow so we're going to bring it over through and then bring that other one over while you've got the first one, the middle one right here. So basically let's start over from the top. So you've got the tuft of hair over top of the middle and you've got the other two over like so. Then you're going to bring the first one over here and bring the middle one over and then bring the other one like that. So you're ready to start braiding. So where does this tuft come in? The tuft comes in right here. Okay? With that middle. Attach it to that then continue the braid. Uh oh. I did that wrong. Really quick. Start over. Okay. You've got your three sections right here okay. Remember you've got the first middle one. Then you've got the top two okay. And you're going to. Okay. So I'm going to show you what I just did. So you're going to take this top one, bring it under and bring the other one under like that. So you've got the three and you're holding on to them. Grab the tuft of hair okay and then just braid that for just one more time like a normal braid. Okay. The hair is really sometimes messy and it gets all over. So now we're ready to start cornrowing her hair."

on 5/11/2009 I agree with Tiffanyrose. 1)You are too rough in handling her hair. It is a person, not a styling head. 2)You are using TOO much hair and 3) The cornrows are not correctly done and do not look good at all. No disrespect intended, but cornrows, cornrow extentions, braids & braid extention on Black hair is not your forte. You need quite a bit of training/practice yourself, before you can show others. Pull up some pix of braid styles on the internet, so you can see what they should look like.

on 1/22/2009 While you have the general idea for adding extensions, you are making some major mistakes which can lead to significant hair damage. First, you are adding far too much hair. Braids that are too heavy pull on the hair and cause breakage. You're also pulling the hair far too tightly which can cause loss at the hair line and not to mention discomfort. I'd recommend that you watch Braids by Breslin to learn not only the proper methods for adding extensions but proper hair care as well.
