"So you just got asked to plan your friend's bridal shower. Hi, I'm Jessica Meiczinger, with Simply Divine Events. And today I'm going to talk to you about the steps to take in planning a bridal shower for your friend. First of all, you want to start off with talking to the bride and figuring out a date and time and possibly a location to have the shower. You can do it at the bride's home. You can do it at the bride's parents' house. You can do it at a restaurant. Or just a location that the bride likes to hang out at, such as a favorite restaurant or park. Next, you want to compile the guest list. Make sure you get all the names and addresses and phone numbers, e-mails. Go to the bride. Go to the bride's mom. If you're friends with the groom's parents, get the addresses from his side, as well, so you can make sure they're included for the special day, too. Also, communication is key when planning a shower. If you're the maid of honor and head of planning, make sure you designate to the rest of your bridal party or the bride's mom on who needs to bring what or pay for what. You might have somebody in charge of invitations, somebody in charge of the menu, somebody in charge of the gifts and games. So you just want to make sure that's clear so that the day of the shower that nothing gets missed or nothing doesn't get brought. Another thing is decorations. Make sure you have somebody in charge of that, too. And that's a great way of dividing the cost amongst the people that are hosting it. Also, when picking a theme, make sure the theme is not offensive to anybody. And make sure it's something that the bride enjoys or needs. And when you do your invitations, make sure you include that information on there. If you're doing a themed shower, request that the guests bring a gift geared towards that theme. For example- a lingerie shower. Have the guests, make a little note on the invitation with the bride's sizes and have the guests bring something geared towards love, romance, or that theme in particular. So those are just some ideas on how to plan a bridal shower. And again, my name is Jessica Meiczinger, with Simply Divine Events, and happy planning."
