"So, you were just asked to give a toast at your friends wedding. You might be the maid of honor or the best man. I'm Lori Randall with Simply Divine Events, and I'm going to tell you how to give a memorable wedding toast. First thing that you're going to want to do is write your thoughts down on paper. And when you're writing your thoughts down on paper, don't do this just the night before, think about doing it one to two weeks prior to the actual wedding. You're going to want to think about keeping things brief. You're not going to want to make your speech longer than like five minutes. Keep it short and sweet, and the guest's wanting to hear more. You want to keep it around like three to five minutes. Also, when you're, when you're saying your toast and your speech, try to stay away from anything that might be racy or condescending or embarrassing to anyone, particularly the bride and groom or anyone that is at the wedding reception. You want to go ahead and thank the parents and all the families, and everyone for coming, as well as thank them for putting on this, this great, you know, wedding that they hosted, and typically that's the brides parents, so kind of find out who's the person who's actually hosting the wedding and thank them, it's always a nice touch. And you're also going to want to not forget, if you're the best man, want to not forget the bride, and make sure that you're complimenting her as well, and letting them know how excited you are for them to be married, and they have this union and that sort of thing. And at the end of your speech, you want to raise your glass and make sure that you toast everyone, and everyone stands and toasts the bride and groom, and let them know how excited you are for them. So, basically I just talked to you about how to have a memorable wedding speech, the toast you're going to be doing for your friends. I am Lori Randall with Simply Divine Events, and go knock them dead on your toast."
