"So, you were just asked to give the best man's speech at your friends wedding, and you might be thinking, oh gosh, you know, where do I begin on writing this best man's speech. Well I'm Lori Randall with Simply Divine Events, and I am going to tell you how to write a best man's speech. First you're going to want to do is put your thoughts on paper, and do this ahead of time, not the day of the wedding, not the night before the wedding. Think about doing this a couple weeks before the wedding. What you're going to want to think about also doing is going out, talking to like family members, maybe the best, or actually the groom's family members, like the parents and sister's and just other friends, and kind of reminisce about how the bride and groom met, and think about, you know, some of the stories they might have that you might want to add in to your speech, something you might not have thought of. So, go and talk to other people so you can write those down in your speech. When you get up there and you're saying your toast and saying your speech, you want to thank everyone for coming. You want to thank the bride's parents if they're the ones who paid for the wedding, for giving this wonderful, you know, wedding reception. Also include the bride. There's a few times that I've seen it where the, the best man's up there, he's talking, giving his speech, and he's only talking about the groom. Remember this is a union between a husband and wife, and you're going to want to include her as well. And just go out there and speak from the heart. You might want to add in a couple little funny stories here or there to break the ice about the groom or the bride and the groom. And also maybe talk about how they met, maybe not everyone who attended the wedding knows that. So, just go speak from the heart, do the best that you can. And I'm Lori Randall with Simply Divine Events, and I just told you how to give a best man's speech, and I wish you the best of luck. I know you'll do great."
