"So, you were just asked to be the Maid of Honor in your friends wedding. Very exciting, but could also be a little scary, as well. I am Lori Randell with Simply Divine Events, and I am going to tell you how to be a maid of honor. Being a maid of honor is actually an honor and it's very exciting and important, and you're going to want to make sure that you're doing all the right things for your friends wedding. What you're going to want to do is be there for the bride, do everything that you can for her, offer support and help to the mother of the bride, as well as the bride. See if you can do anything for them such as attending meetings, you might want to help her even with some of the planning process. You're also going to want to talk with all of the other brides maids, and kind of divvy out all of the duties and things that you expect of all of the other brides maids and everyone else who is involved in planning this wedding, or whose being in this wedding. You are going to be responsible for putting on the shower, the bridal shower, and then what you want to do, is talk with all of the other bridesmaids and let them know what you need help in, you might need help with the invitations, the guest list, as well as the decorations. So, you're responsible for that. You're also going to be planning the bachelorette party. Talk to the bride see what she might want to do, kind of do things that might interest her. Again, talk with all of the other bridesmaids and see what they can do to help you. You're going to also want to go to the brides final gown fitting, so you can help her when she has to bustle her dress, after the ceremony, right before she walks into the reception. Your, during the ceremony, you're going to be holding the brides bouquet, when she's actually up there saying her vows, she's going to pass it off to you, so you might want to keep that in mind, as well. You might be holding the groom's ring as well, if there isn't a ring bearer. If there is a ring bearer and a flower girl at the ceremony, you're going to kind of want to attend to them, if there's nobody else that can watch them. Make them feel comfortable, help line them up. You're going to want to make sure that everyone's on time, all of the girls on the girls side of the party. You're going to want to have a schedule, if possible for the getting ready part of the day, and make sure that everyone gets there on times, getting their hair done in the right amount of time, their make-up done. You might also want to think about packing a little kit for the bride, her make-up, her hair supply, deodorant, that sort of thing to help her out and make sure she didn't forget anything. Also, think about you know, do you have your bag packed for your wedding night? Do you have your tickets, you're going for your honeymoon, if the groom doesn't have it, and just kind of be there and make sure that she doesn't forget anything, and basically just be her support system. So, I know this sounds like a lot, and I'm sure you're going to do a great job with this. And, best of luck to you and congratulations on being the maid of honor!"
