"Over productive sebaceous glands or oil glands are responsible for oily skin. I'm Jackie Silver from Aging Backwards with how to care for oily skin. What may seem like a curse at first may actually be a blessing because oily skin generally is slower to show fine lines and wrinkles. People with oily skin may be more prone to break outs but there are a few simple steps to minimize them. Don't over-wash your face. It seems logical to think that washing your face will reduce the oil but believe it or not over washing actually causes the oil glands to produce more oil. 2 or 3 washes a day is sufficient using a mild cleanser and lukewarm water. Hot water can strip your skin of moisture. Cold water closes your pores which is a good idea but rinse your skin with cold water after cleansing not before. Look for oil-free moisturizers and sun screens to keep your pores unblocked. And talk to your doctor about the choices for treating severe cases. Remember, to care for oily skin wash with a mild cleanser in lukewarm water no more than 3 times a day and choose moisturizing products specifically formulated for oily skin. I'm Jackie Silver with how to care for oily skin. And now you're looking good."
